Brand new retail concept opening in North Berwick High Street - as The Fisherman's Kitchen becomes Bunney's
On 27 October 2010, there will be a massive change to the former fish and deli shop The Fisherman's Kitchen in North Berwick High Street as Bunney's officially opens its doors.
Rod and Lorna Bunney have been trading under the title of The Fisherman's Kitchen for the past 11 years, selling fresh fish, fruit and vegetables. Having seen a change in high street buying behaviour, Lorna has been itching to try something new and exciting that will bring a fresh approach to premium food and drink retailing to North Berwick.
"We've been waiting for the right time to move away from traditional grocery and deli retailing" comments Lorna Bunney. ÒAfter years of serving our wonderful clients, we honestly feel that now is the time to focus on offering them a wide choice of fantastic food and drink, gifts and exclusive brands that you can't find unless you travel to Edinburgh".
This husband and wife team have enjoyed serving loyal customers and tourists in North Berwick and understand how the local market has changed. "Customers are always on the lookout for something different and we want to let them know that whatever they want, Bunney's will be the place to find it."
On 17 October, the old Fisherman's Kitchen will be closed for business forever. Builders and decorators move in and commandeer the shop for 10 days. Major refurbishments, stock changes and re-branding will take place, ready for the opening of Bunney's on the morning of 27 October 2010.
Out with the fresh fish and vegetables and in with all things to do with food and drink. Bunney's will be stocking everything from Cath Kidson giftware, olive and rapeseed oils, Japanese sushi wraps, comprehensive range of fine wines, stationery to vintage American tableware. There will also be a strong emphasis for promoting local produce within the new store and Rod will continue to serve his well loved homemade soups and sandwiches to-go.
"Bunney's is going to be a brand new concept for North Berwick High Street. We're aiming to stock the best in home dining, the best giftware and the best food and drink outside of Edinburgh City Centre" - a statement that encapsulates Rod and Lorna's dedication and passion for bringing the best to North Berwick.
In fact, Rod and Lorna are so committed to their new venture that they would welcome suggestions, "we're so excited about Bunney's that we'd like to offer a challenge - if you love a certain brand but can't find it locally, or have a favourite ingredient that isn't widely available , then give us a call or drop by.
